The Doctors, Nurses and Receptionists are all very friendly and helpful, as well as efficient. Always quite busy, so appointments are not always that easy to get, but rest assured when you do have an appointment, that they will listen and help first time round. They are good at getting back to you when asked to, as well. I have two daughters, with special needs, whom they've helped me get back on their medicines, without too long a wait, which has been great as well.

Many thanks for your kind words. Have you explored registering on-line to book your own appointments with a Doctor? You can do this on our website. https://desborough.gpsurgery.net/services/online-services-2/

I have never had a problem making an appointment at Desborough Surgery. All the doctors I have seen have been patient and helpful. The one thing I found annoying is when my doctor of many years had left the Surgery and I didn't know about it. Also a receptionist who had been very good to me left after a great number of years, and I didn't know. Maybe a newsletter could be emailed if there are major changes at the Surgery?

Hi, Do we have your email address as we produce a bi-monthly newsletters and are always after ideas for content. The current doctors and receptionists have been with with us for quite a few years thankfully so I wonder when the doctor you mention left us or how regularly you visit perhaps.

The nurse who carried out my smear test was incredibly kind and caring, very professional and an asset to the Practice. She made a test, that no woman looks forward to, quick and discomfort free. I recommend this Practice as efficient and thorough for such a test,

The nurses and most of the doctors are caring and supportive. a senior receptionist needs to take a course on dealing with members of the public as she clearly has got issues with the job. Should either leave her problems at home or simply leave. Nurses are brill, can't speak highly enough. Some of the politically interested docs are always trying to penny pinch by not prescribing some medicines which are routinely prescribed on the nhs and telling you to buy them yourself. This is illegal by the way, but they still do it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. I will make sure I pass on your kind words to our doctors and nurses. You also mention reception. I am very sorry that one of our reception staff did not meet with your expectations. The role of receptionist is a difficult one, but that is not to say that there is not room for improvement in how staff interact and deal with patients who can range from being pleasant to very demanding and are often rude or unreasonable. This article from Mail online, although quite old now, still holds good. GP Receptionists - Independent Article Specific complaints should be lodged with the Practice and will be dealt with under the NHS Complaints Procedure. With regard to prescriptions, unless a patient is entitled to free or subsidised medication it is often less expensive to recommend they buy a widely available generic medicine over the counter rather than pay £8.40 in prescription charges. Sadly the time has come that the NHS cannot pay for every treatment required. The decision to prescribe is made by the doctor, who has to work within the guidelines of the local CCG which includes a list of medications that should be bought over the counter. You may find the following independent article an interesting read. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/cheap-prescriptions Would you like to have a say about the services provided at Desborough and Hazlemere Surgeries as we would like to hear your views? Automated check-in system which I don't trust (and on basis of previous visit, neither do the GPs). As last time, my appointment time slipped sufficiently (more than half an hour over a mid-morning appointment time of 11:20) that I spoke to a receptionist to enquire whether the automated check-in system had failed again (it hadn't). At least the consultation was worth waiting for.
